This is me:

Mother. Catholic. Sinner. Crafter. School Counselor. Pro-Life Advocate. Social Justice Enthusiast. Entrepreneur. Writer. Speaker. Cabinet Painter. Coffee Addict. Doll Maker. Etsy Shop Owner. Dreamer.

My name is Raquel Rose, and this blog is a collection of all the “roses” and “thorns” of my journey through life.

You will find my many thoughts and questions on motherhood and Catholicism, my crafts and tutorials, my call to be a pro-life and social justice advocate, my School Counseling lesson plans, and most importantly-my many lessons as I strive to embrace the thorns and roses of life.

It is here that I am reminded of the beautiful journey I am on…

I hope you enjoy!

  1. Raquel – what a beautiful and heart warming story. I really am truly touched. You and your daughter are just beautiful, she must get her light from her mommy. You are also a true inspiration. I also just graduated and will be starting university to get my masters in the fall. I am going into Social Work with the hope of being able to help others and work in some sort of ministry. I love the idea of working in a pregnancy center and with young women and their children. I really am so touched, I can’t quite express it with words. I can promise I will be sharing your blog and page with others. Also, you have inspired me to possibly start a blog of my own. As young Catholic, pro life women – I think our words and opinions need to be heard a bit more, our stories shared to inspire, and of efforts should come together to promote a dignity of femininity, womanhood, and motherhood in our culture. My sincerest gratitude to you for shedding so much light and inspiration. Please be assured of my prayers for you and AvaMarie. Continue to share your story and opinions, continue to shine, and never be hushed by the world!

    1. Thank you sooo much for those kind and encouraging words!! Your prayers truly keep me going! Please keep me posted on how graduate school is going!! And of course if you ever start a blog, I would LOVE to follow along! Prayers are going your way! It sounds to me like you are quite the inspiration yourself 🙂

  2. You really inspire me and make me feel like I’m less alone in this. I’m a junior in college and 27 weeks pregnant. This has been the most life altering experience of my life and I haven’t felt prepared to handle a lot of the emotions ive been feeling. It helps to know someone went through the same thing. I’m currently enrolled in college and sometimes I honestly feel judged for not going through w an abortion. I have felt guilt for affecting my boyfriend’s life and my family’s life so much. I grew up in a very Christian family and was taught Christian values but my faith hasn’t been such an important part of my life in the past year or so. Anyways I just wanted you to know I think you’re doing something really good with your blog and I’m really glad I got a chance to read it.

  3. Hi Raquel-
I just wanted to let you know I really love your blog. Your posts are so inspiring and I appreciate how real, thoughtful, and honest you are. Thank you for sharing your story! It is so beautiful and encouraging to see how God has worked/is working in your life. You have really inspired me in my own faith-journey. Thank you for your witness to God’s love and the Catholic Church! Keep it up 🙂

  4. Raquel,

You are a wonderful blessing to a world that is in great need of faith, hope and love. I, too, was once lost in the world of college pleasures. If not for the presence of a strong, faithful woman in my life a few years ago I may have never returned to the Church. Because of the witness she gave, not only did I return, but now I’m spending my summer raising support for a mission with FOCUS so that I can help others who are nearly as lost as I was.

Yours is a beautiful and powerful story. Stay strong in your faith. You are already inspiring men and women all around the world. We need strong women such as yourself!

  5. Raquel, I just listened to your YouTube testimony. Thank you so much for sharing your story, which truly touched me. God bless you! Your sister in Christ, Sarah
