I’ve been dabbling with the idea of writing a book ever since my very first blog: “I’m That Girl That Got Pregnant”.
Well…because when I got pregnant, out of wedlock, single, and in college, I had no where to turn. I didn’t think there was anyone who could relate to what was happening in my life. In fact, our world does such a good job of silencing the voices of women in unplanned pregnancy, that I thought the best place to turn was Planned Parenthood. Ha!
Anyways…this all goes to say that women who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy need to know they are NOT alone. There are so many of us that have been there. And, when you are in the middle of a crisis, who would you trust more than another woman who has been in the very same crisis?
Not only is this book a true account of my experience with an unplanned pregnancy, it will have various other accounts so that readers can get a feel for all the different emotions, circumstances, and decisions that result from an unplanned pregnancy.
This book WILL address WHY girls may choose abortion.
Yes, abortion is a real choice that some women choose, and this book will look abortion straight in the face….because abortion is real.
Because of this, the book will also be a great resource for the pro-life movement. Why?
This book will expose to the readers EXACTLY what goes on in the mind of women when considering their options. I think readers will be surprised to find out that the heart of the issue of abortion is fear of judgment….not a misunderstanding of when life begins.
Along with exposing the real thoughts and emotions of the woman in a crisis pregnancy, the book will also contain those very same women’s advice for the pro-life movement. HUGELY valuable. The very women that abortion targets have shared what exactly the pro-life movement needs to do (they will share what happened that helped them choose life, or what could have happened that would have helped them choose life rather than abortion).
Abortion is one of the biggest tragedies of our age, so anyone who considers themselves pro-life would benefit from this book.
My hope is that it will be a resource for the pro-lifer and the girl in the crisis pregnancy.
I don’t think that what I have to say is profound, but I think it (along with the many women I have interviewed) is real, raw, and genuine.
That is what people need to hear.
Because it is so real, I’m obviously scared. Scared to be so vulnerable with one of the most life-changing moments of my life.
So I’m mostly writing to post to ask for prayers and support as I finish my first proposal and start submitting this book idea to potential publishers.
Your prayers mean the world.
